Content Production Disclosure

How human review, source research, product evidence, digital tools and AI assistance may be used.

This disclosure explains how articles, tables, comparisons and illustrations may be produced and where digital tools, including generative AI, can assist.

Human editorial responsibility

Karen Taylor is responsible for the site’s topic choices, comparison criteria, source selection, final editing, publication decisions, updates and corrections. Digital tools do not hold editorial responsibility and are not treated as factual authorities.

How a guide is created

  1. Define the reader, trip and decision.
  2. Set the evidence label and comparison criteria.
  3. Collect original specifications, manuals, rules, warranties and reputable supporting sources.
  4. Conduct and document hands-on checks where the article includes them.
  5. Compare products or approaches using consistent factors.
  6. Draft the explanation around the decision rather than the affiliate link.
  7. Verify important claims, calculations, versions and disclosures.
  8. Review headings, links, accessibility, metadata and mobile readability.
  9. Publish only after human review.

How AI may assist

Generative AI or other digital tools may help with:

  • Organising research notes and source lists.
  • Suggesting an outline or clearer section order.
  • Identifying repeated wording, gaps or inconsistent units.
  • Structuring comparison tables that are then checked.
  • Supporting calculations that are independently reviewed.
  • Improving grammar or readability.
  • Producing original editorial illustrations that are labelled when needed.

AI output is not accepted automatically. It can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Important information is checked against the responsible source, and the editor reviews the final page.

What AI is not used to invent

  • Product ownership, testing, wear, journeys or measurements.
  • Quotations, interviews, correspondence or manufacturer responses.
  • Professional qualifications, awards or credentials.
  • User reviews, ratings or survey results.
  • Safety approvals, certifications, prices or availability.
  • Photographic evidence of a product or test that did not occur.

Images

Images may be original, licensed, supplied by a manufacturer or created with digital tools. A manufacturer image is not evidence of independent testing. AI-generated or substantially AI-altered images are not presented as documentary product photographs, and disclosure is added where the distinction matters.

Commercial input

A manufacturer or affiliate partner may provide a product, specifications or a factual response. It does not receive the right to approve the conclusion unless a clearly labelled commercial arrangement states otherwise. Material relationships are disclosed on the relevant page.
