I am Karen Taylor, the founder and editor of Taylor’s Trailblazing Travels. I plan, organise and review the site’s content, choose the questions each guide should answer, check the sources used and make the final editorial decisions before anything is published.
I created the site because travel planning can quickly become confusing. Prices change, transport choices look simpler on a map than they are in practice, and many articles repeat the same destination lists without explaining the trade-offs. Taylor’s Trailblazing Travels is intended to reduce that confusion by comparing the options in a structured, honest way.

Research-led advice and first-hand experience
This is a research-led planning site. It does not present researched information as personal experience.
Where first-hand experience genuinely informs an article, that will be stated clearly and specifically. Where it does not, the wording will remain research-led. Phrases such as “I visited”, “I stayed” or “my experience” should not appear unless they are true and relevant.
Planning judgement may still be useful without pretending it is first-hand. For example, a guide may recommend one base over another after comparing transport, location, cost, traveller reviews and the shape of a realistic itinerary. When advice is a judgement rather than a fixed fact, the article should make that distinction clear.
